Great War Learning Materials Available
As a part of the Southend Schools Festival of Remembrance Project we have been able to make available free of charge the learning materials that were created thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and SSFR Team. These Southend and Rochford based materials cover the lives of people who lived and died during the Great War era and can be used freely thanks to the project funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Leigh Town Council and Southend Borough Council. The resources can be found on the SSFR website at: www.ssfr.org.uk Many thanks to all of the brilliant volunteers who helped to make SSFR such a successful project and thanks also go to the children and staff of the 25 schools that took part and the local community organisations who joined us. More information about the project can be found on the website along with films and a Great War Trail detailing the lives of some the Southenders who lived and died at that time.
